This looks like the closest thing yet to a real-life holodeck! The Virtusphere is (as the name suggests) a large hollow sphere which sits on a set of computer monitored wheels. This is a first peek at an augmented reality virtual pet game being developed for the iPhone in the GVU Center’s Augmented Environments Lab at Georgia Tech. The game is far from done, but there’s enough to it right now to show off some of what will be possible. (Kudo’s to Kimberly Spreen for getting this going).
