Would you agree that virtual reality is a good thing? Not only in games, but its uses in our society?

I have a question asking whether virtual reality is a good thing or a bad thing. How can we benefit from it? VR is defintely awesome and all, but isn’t possible that we might lose ourselves? As in we forget what’s real and what’s pretend. What is your opinion on virtual reality?
